ELITE PATHWAY

Scholarship, ​Selection & Assessment Criteria

​Application Period

1 February to 13 March 2026, scholarship recipients advised by 31 March 2026.

​​

Scholarship​

  • $2500 Cash Allocation, can be used for activities including race entry, travels costs and any other approved costs in 2026

  • Running Apparel & Footwear Allocation

  • RunAsOne (RAO) Running Group, Coaching OR mentoring*

  • Tri-series Education workshops: goal setting, nutrition, injury prevention and rehabilitation

 

*RAO Running Group, Coaching OR Mentoring available depending on the successful applicants individual needs

  • ​1 x Scholarship will be awarded in 2026 in the Elite Pathway Category.

  • Age Requirement: Open to individuals aged 17-27 years.​

  • Applicant must have achieved the National qualifying standard for their age group in any event from 1500m-marathon.

  • Running Focus: Applicants should demonstrate a commitment to training for a 1500m, 5km, 10km, half marathon or full marathon.

​

Passion for Running: Applicants must show evidence of their passion for running, such as participation in running events,
membership in a running club, or a personal training journey.

​

Mental Health and/or Illness: We encourage applicants with lived experience or a close family member or friend with mental health challenges and/or mental illness (this will be kept confidential other than to scholarship judges).

​

Commitment and Dedication

  • Evidence of a consistent and structured approach to training.

  • Demonstrates resilience in overcoming challenges in their running journey.  

 ​​​

Kindness and Generosity

  • Involvement in community or volunteer initiatives, especially those related to running, health, or fitness.

  • Examples of supporting or inspiring others in their running or personal goals.    

 

​​​Balance and Discipline

  • Maintains a balanced approach to running alongside other life commitments, such as education, work, or family.

  • Demonstrates responsibility and time management skills.    

 

​Personal Story

A short article or video submission sharing how running has or is helping to shape your life.

​

Future Goals

Clear goals for your running journey and how the scholarship will support your aspirations.
