Bailey’s Run 2025: A Global Community United in Love, Movement and Memory

On a perfect December morning at the SA Athletics Stadium, more than 350 runners gathered for Bailey’s Run 2025—a powerful celebration of community, connection and purpose.

Members of the RunAsOne community were joined by the broader South Australian running family, with visitors travelling from interstate and runners also joining in from around the world. Some runners in Europe logged their kilometres at 6:30am in freezing conditions—around 0°C—demonstrating just how far this community is willing to go to honour a special cause.

The atmosphere on the track was friendly and supportive. Perfect conditions, inspiring energy and unwavering support from fellow runners led to outstanding performances, personal breakthroughs and moments that will be remembered long after the finish line. It was a true reflection of what happens when people come together with a shared purpose.

This year marked the second running of Bailey’s Run, held in loving memory of Bailey Minchington, who suddenly passed away in November 2024. The inaugural event was held just one month later in December 2024, drawing more than 350 participants of all ages and abilities on a beautiful sunny morning. In 2025, that same spirit returned—stronger, broader and deeply felt.

In the lead-up to the event, a global community of more than 400 runners united through Bailey Minchington’s Around the World in 30 Days Strava Challenge. Together, they ran an incredible 64,031 kilometres—the equivalent of 1.6 laps around the world (40,075km). It was a remarkable show of collective effort, generosity and shared commitment.

The Bailey Minchington Running Scholarship Team 2025 proudly took part on the day, embodying the values at the heart of the scholarships: growth, wellbeing, kindness and community. Generous donations were received from across the globe, reinforcing just how widely Bailey’s story—and this cause—has resonated.

A heartfelt thank you goes to the coaches, volunteers, pacers and staff, whose leadership and dedication continue to make this event so special. We are also deeply grateful to RunAsOne and the global running community for their kindness, generosity and ongoing support.

Now held annually in partnership with RunAsOne, Bailey’s Run is the major fundraiser supporting the Bailey Minchington Running Scholarship Program—helping young people aged 17–27 pursue their running goals while nurturing positive wellbeing through exercise, connection and community.

Looking ahead, Bailey’s Run 2026 is planned for Friday 18 December 2026, once again at SA Athletics Stadium in Adelaide.

Bailey’s Run is more than a race. It is a reminder that through movement, love and community, something truly meaningful can grow—together.
